Show & Tell : moleskine

I have a problem. Maybe even an addiction. And I'm pretty sure this is a safe place to admit it. To come clean. Because something tells me there are other addicts among us.

I am addicted to journals and planners. All things organizational. All that blank space for ideas and lists.

It used to be that almost any journal could suck me in –lined, unlined, spiral, hardbound, wide ruled, college ruled…

 Small pink addy

But with time and experience and as I've honed my addiction, I've come to realize that there is one company that just gets it right. That has managed to think of all the things I want in a journal/planner — from a tiny pocket in the back, to the "feel" of the page, to the amount of writing space.

That company would be Moleskine. They have really managed to capture the perfect balance between planner space and journal space, and they do both very well.

Color a month

So I am really excited this morning to be able to offer a bundle of moleskine goodies to TWO lucky mommycoddle readers.

Desk calendar

Each bundle will include a Color-A-Month calendar and a pocket sized address book, as well as a few other tidbits, that I know you'll use and enjoy.

Be sure to check out all that Moleskine has to offer as well as their new colors–blues, pinks? I love it.

In order to enter, simply leave a comment on this post and I'll announce the two random winners on Thursday. Good luck!

*Please note: I will be shipping out the winner's prizes myself, so I am asking each winner to pay for shipping (via paypal). Please be sure you are willing to do this, before you enter. Some of the products have been removed from their clear plastic packaging for "inspection" for my review, but are in perfect condition, otherwise.

  10. I’m still using a mini-legal pad for my lists, so I think I need to give one of these a try. I see them mentioned often enough!

  11. I never thought that I would find another who was so addicted to journals and planners as I am. I too have come to love moleskine. Recently I have had to stray from my one true love because of cost. this is a golden opportunity for me. Thank you so much for giving us all a shot at these.

  12. dear me, I LOVE Moleskine. Do you know how to pronounce it? I heard once from someone who really knew. It is not mole-skin. It is like Mole-ay-skeen-ah or something. I still say Mole – skin. I think people would think I am weird if I tried to pronounce it the other way.

    They talk about it here:

hooray for journaling and organizing and note-taking!

  13. I, too, am a Moleskine addict. I’ve even passed it on to my children. They have the mini notebooks. So sad 🙂 Have you seen their new Passions line? Wonderful – can’t wait to get my hands on one (or several) of those, too! This is a very generous giveaway – especially considering your own addiction! Please enter my name in the giveaway.

  14. Awesome. I’ve always wanted to try these. I’ve looked at them, but just haven’t been able to shell out the money. This would be a fun way to try them out.

  15. OK, you have inherited your mania for things organizational with good reason. If it helps, it’s in your genes. You can’t help yourself! Put my name in the pot for this one. Your mama

  16. oh moleskin, moleskin, moleskin. how did you know???i don’t think i can resist this, even though i did just get a new Paperblanks planner. Why? Because the store in town didn’t carry the proper moleskin and I decided to branch out. I admit, it’s a bit Moleskin-ish…I’m not yet decided completely. But, moleskin – bestill my heart.

  17. My husband and I LOVE Moleskine! I’m like you-totally addicted to journals and notebooks. We’re now passing along our writing addiction to our boys!

  18. Ooh, fellow notebook and planner addict here. I’ve never actually used a Moleskine product, though I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about them…maybe I’ll get lucky and win. 🙂

  19. i love moleskine products and to the detriment of my pocketbook, my children have already discovered them and usually have a sketch book in tow when we’re on the go!

  20. I’m a journal addict, too! I love all kinds of office supplies but I’m really partial to journals and calendars. Maybe we should start a support group! Sure hope I win! I’ve never had a moleskine before but have admired them in bookstores. Thanks for the chance to win.

  21. Count me in! I’m working on my photograhy skills these days, and would love a place for note taking and idea jotting!

  26. I’m SO addicted to office supplies. Getting a new planner is like Christmas, all over again. (Getting a new planner FOR Christmas, now that’s almost too much.)

  27. I love moleskine products! There are so many uses. I like buying the packs of three mini journals to add to gifts! I have traveled to Europe twice with my moleskine as my catch all for train times, phone numbers, and other travel info. The back envelope is perfect for saving all those ticket stubs 🙂

  28. I love notebooks and have never had a consistency with any in my 61 years. All my kids make lists and don’t necessarily follow through just like their mom.

  29. Yes, me too…. mine started as a kid with school supplies, then became more refined as an adult…. I love the moleskins and would cherish having some of my own….

  30. oh please oh please oh please…as you can see, I’m not above begging. LOVE their journals and have lots of ideas to jot down. Thanks for offering!!!

  31. oooh molly, you know i’m crazy in love with moleskines, and i just couldn’t resist throwing my name in your hat for such an amazing treat. when i first spied those color-a-month calendars a few weeks back i almost lost it. you’re right, they’ve hit the organizational junkie’s nail on the head.fingers are crossed.xoxo

  32. I love moleskine products. I have one that I use as a notebook. I love the elastic strap that keeps the pages together instead of turning into a mess in the bottom of my handbag. (Yes, 2007 cheap diary, I’m looking at YOU!)

  33. The college bookstore where we live now has a big display of Moleskine and I’ve been an addict ever since (so of course I’d love to have more!). Thanks for the giveaway!

  34. I LOVE MOLSKIN JOURNALS. So much so, that I often give them for gifts. … I’ve never tried their planers, and am in need of a new address book. I’ll have to check them out … or maybe win!

  35. LOVE moleskine! wonderful things – i love all things organizational too, especially now that i have three little ones running around the house. hope you’re surviving the snow (we’re in northern virginia, closing in on a week without school). by the way, will be anxious to see if you get any help for static-y girl’s hair – we have the same problem. be well – god bless you! your blog is just beautiful.

  36. Oh, boy. I don’t know if anyone could bypass me in the journal love department. I’ve never used this brand and would LOVE to take your recommendation on their wonderfulness. Thanks for offering!

  37. Oooh…my heart beats for “school supplies”. I can’t help but still refer to such fun stuff with the childhood moniker!

  38. We all love these in my house–the little ones make nice little nature journals, and I always have one in my purse for when I have a minute or two to write. What a fun giveaway!Amanda

  39. I also ADORE moleskin. And have several types. One of those things that I feel is worth the price! I have tons of the little plain ruled notebooks in about every purse, backpack, tote and car glove box. Would love to try more of their products!!

  40. Nice to know that there are other moleskine addicted mothers out there! I would love to receive these – the color a month calendar looks fabulous!

  41. Yes, I have a little stack of these sitting on my bedside table. I want to sew something on the cover to personalize this little thoughtful spot. I have not looked too hard at what else they have, surely I’ll fall easily. Sweet kindness, thank-you.

  42. wow, wow, wow. I love the color-a-month calendars! I too am a bit obsessed with planners and journals and all sorts of organizational paper products. Thanks for the giveaway!

  43. What is not to love about Moleskin? Is there a kind of journal or planner that I’m not in love with and use for everything I possibly can?! Ok, I admit, my name is Judi and I’m addicted to Moleskin. There. I can sleep now.

  44. Oooh, enter me please! I love the Moleskines I have and my current address book is some loose leaf pages stuck in the back pocket of my planner… Recipe for disaster!

  45. Admittedly, I’ve always looked at (and even stroked) moleskins in the store, but have never brought myself to shell out the money for one. Maybe a freebie would have me converted…. Pretty please!

  46. Am I too late? I just read this one and think that I have stumbled on the thing that will transform my life and make me a better person….or just a little happier to have a Moleskin. Hehehe. Pick me!

  47. I feel your addiction girl. I can spend an hour in the paper section trying to find the right thing. Too many times I buy something close, but not quite right. I have four or five brand new notebooks/journals in the garage sale pile right now. Perfect for someone who isn’t quite so OCD about them! Its hard to get my inspiration out if I’m not happy with my journal.

  48. I love Moleskin journals. I ordered the panoramic weekly calendar for myself this year, certainly a bit of a splurge but I use it every day. It’s those elastics around the cover that get me every time.I will pay the shipping!

    Heather

  49. I hope I’m not too late…I’m passionate about paper, planners, and anything organizational too! Thanks for the contest! I really enjoy following your blog.

  50. ** Not entering just late commenting** GOod luck with the snow and storms headed your way, and with Mary (our t&p are with you), and the new little one (I measured early and baby was all different ways she ended up coming 2 days before her due date.)I fell in love with the Moleskin journals when I started writing to my oldest when he was 6 months old. I bought my first one at Target and then when I got pregnant again Target unfortunately did not carry the stle I liked. So , I went online and ordered enought (hopefully) for all of my children/expected children. There is something magical and exciting about writing to my kids. The hope and love and anticipation of them reading the thoughts and stories when they are older, it inspires me and fills me with love.

  51. Oh, I hope you haven’t picked a winner…I love all things Moleskin. I have to admit, I tried some cheaper ones, but I found myself coming back to Moleskin. So thin and sleek! Love them!

  52. I like what Pentalic Traveler’s Sketch Books offer. They are not lined or have fancy scheduling stuff on them. Just plain and simple elegance. They come in a variety of bold colors – red, royal blue, black, orange, sky blue, pink, and light green. Very trendy. Perfectly sized to fit in my pocket or through in small places. They have a nice vinyl waterproof cover and an elastic enclosure.

I use them for my journaling primarily. They don’t have lines, but I like the freedom of not having them. They force me to practice my own ability to keep a straight line of text. Plus, if I want to draw something, I have that freedom, without interruption of ugly lines (hard to remove when scanning in drawings, for example).

The best thing about the Pentalic books is that they are so cheap. Great for the starving artist!
