This new book Duck! Rabbit!
by Chronicle Books has my kids cracking up and begging for another reading. Maybe it's because I'm a stellar storyteller, or maybe it's because Amy Krouse Rosenthal, who wrote two of our favorites (Little Pea
and Little Hoot
) has done it again with her great sense of humor. The classic optical illusion (drawn by Tom Lichtenheld), and banter between the two "characters" in the story is classic and my kids loved it. But we'll leave the answer up to you–is it a duck or is it a rabbit?
You can get a sneak peek for yourself here:
The other new books that have been making the rounds at our kitchen table are these amazing Rosie Flo coloring books. I honestly don't know who has more fun with these, the girls or me. The outfits and illustrations in this book are amazing, and children (or their parents) only need to add the missing "body parts" and color the clothing and accessories. There are three versions of this book…

We just heard Ms. Rosenthal on XM talking about the book the other day. Tristan has little pea memorized. I think I might add those coloring books to Katie’s birthday list.
They all look like great books! I have been planning to get some new doodle books for my daughter’s birthday this year, and I think these would be great. I love the duck rabbit video and can’t wait to see the book.
I’ve been reading Mommy Coddle for a few months now, and am really enjoying it. I found the book “Little Pea” recently at our local bookstore and loved it! I also have a budding artist that would spend hours with one of those coloring books. Those might find their way to my amazon wish list…
oooh ooh…so exciting. both books look great but i love the coloring books….they would be a nice change from all the mandalas we’ve been coloring lately.
Too funny! I know my boys would love that book! The coloring books are too cute..too bad I don’t have any daughters but I know a few nieces that would LOVE them. Have a great weekend!

I think I would have a lot of fun with those Rosie Flo books as well. 🙂 very sweet. I have not heard of the Duck!Rabbit! author, I will have to check those out. thanks for sharing.
My daughter would adore these! We are huge fans of Taro Gomi’s Scribbles books, but she complains that they aren’t “fancy” or “pretty” enough. She is a true girly girl.
What sweet books. Eli (now at 7 months) is discovering his own love of books. His particular favorites are the Tana Hoban contrast books. He picks them out of the line up every time!
