home / life (in general) / LIVING WELL

i am home.

hello.

home.

I think it is time to return to this space. I had a really, really good break. It was a good thing. And it's good to remember what you love about something you've been doing for (exactly) five years.

I don't think I'll spend a lot time with what we did. I'll just jump back in with what we're doing

home.

While I was away from here, I kept a private space online, all my own. No one knew about it. I shared it with no one. But it was an experiment. I wanted to know what it would be like if I had a space for only me.

And I learned that I like marking time. I like writing things down. Remembering. I like to-do lists, and favorite quotes, remembering how I canned the tomatoes, and how much drama went in to losing that big front tooth. Sometimes, I like to post without pictures. Sometimes I like just a few words.

It was refreshing. And I hope to bring a lot of that back here.

hi. i'm home.

So hi! Hello! This is me waving over the fence. Letting you know I'm back from vacation. And I'm feeling good.

LIVING WELL

closed for the season

6 july

When I told my husband my plan, he didn't think I'd go through with it. But I know this is much needed. So, I'm going to take a little break from my blog for the season.

I want to refresh and recharge.

I want to be on my computer less.

I want the freedom to experience moments that are only documented in my memory.

Of course, I'll still be over at habit. There is something about using just a few words to mark time that is really appealing to me right now. And for the month of July, we've invited all of you to share in that habit along with us.

I'll be back in August. I'm already looking forward to it.

Be well, friends.

babyhood / Show & Tell

Show & Tell : Baby Bjorn Active Carrier

Show tell new
 THE WINNER IS:

Rebecca who said: Looks sweet and cozy!

Congratulations! I'll be in touch soon!

This will be my last Show & Tell for awhile, (more details to come) but it is one that I am really excited to share with you.

I have always believed that a baby carrier is an essential piece of baby gear. Not only are there great benefits to wearing your baby, but there is also the reality that sometimes, with baby in tow, you still need to have your hands free.

So I was really excited to get to try out the new Active Carrier from BabyBjorn.

Ever since my pregnancy with Emma, I have had nagging lower back problems. And old college volleyball shoulders still plague me now and then, as well. This makes baby-wearing often uncomfortable for any length of time. So I am always on the lookout for a baby carrier that is comfortable and easy on my neck, back and shoulders.

The Active Carrier, however has been extremely helpful with all my babywearing "issues". The carrier has sturdy padded straps that are comfortable, not digging into my shoulders and back. And the best part, to me, of this carrier is the extra lumbar support in the back that can be adjusted with the carrier straps.

Carrier back
Among carriers that I've used, I believe this to be one of the easiest to transition into and get used to using. I have also found my children to adjust to it very easily, too. It can be used for newborns (8 pounds, 21 inches) and then transitioned into an outward facing position as baby grows older.

And let's also not forget the great colors that the carrier comes in. (I finally decided to stop being neutral in all my baby gear and opted for the pink and navy!)

And today, thanks to the generous folks at BabyBjorn, I have an Active Carrier to give away to one lucky MommyCoddle reader. Simply leave a comment on this post to be entered. I'll announce the winner on Thursday.

(Please note: This post is only open to US and Canada residents.BabyBjorn sent me an Active Carrier for this review.)
