Despite my best efforts, Birdy grew a little bigger over the summer.
This afternoon we gave her a few of her favorite things —
the outdoors.
a blanket.
her sisters.
her belly.
her toys.
and the animal kingdom.
It's her favorite place to be and she's so content…so content in fact that I could wander around a bit with my film camera, while she sat happily on the blanket watching chickens, grabbing fist-fulls of hair from a passing cat, getting a quick snuggle from one of her sisters.
Though this time, while I was wandering, she managed to inch off the blanket and "weed" the clover. And taste it, and drool over it, and tuck it away in neck rolls, and trails of drool down chins, down onesies and clenched in tight little chubby fists.
I know I say it with each passing stage, but this is so my favorite age.
And you'll probably hear me say it again in a few weeks….
she looks so sweet & so happy, I love that age too.
She looks so much like her sisters, Molly! She’s beautiful.
I love this age – Kit is sitting up and not actively crawling yet and it’s the best. We call it the golden age around here. Happy 6 months, mama!
Those legs! Such a delicious baby. Thank you for sharing.
If only we could preserve each stage just a bit longer. I loved every minute by minute by minute – still do and he’s 18! Enjoy every moment.
best title ever.
and yes, it is your prerogative to declare every day the best age and stage. in my humble opinion.
I love those days where at least one child is perfectly content. When more than one is it is almost heaven! Then if you let me walk around and take pictures…well then Mommy is on cloud 9. Also your girls are beautiful!
So sweet – yes, they do just love to munch a bit of nature’s goodness.Warm wishes, tonya
My guy is 5 & a half months & equally delicious! They’re like a drug at this age! He is also an inveterate grass/leaf/sand eater. Good for their systems!
Me too! Definitely my favorite age – after the “4th trimester” newborn stage and before the “into everything/can’t take your eyes off ’em for a nanosecond” stage. So glad she turned out to be a happy girl after her fussy start!
I’ve missed dropping in here over the past few months and as soon as I saw Birdy I knew it had indeed been a very long time. What a big girl you have now! She’s beautiful.
She is so sweet and such lovely moments to cherish!
I love that age too. She is beautiful! My littlest guy turns one next week, I can’t believe it. PS – I love that onesie she is wearing.
I always wonder what cats and dogs are thinking when they sniff babies. I’m not sure if your cat is sniffing, but the picture made me think of that.
i agree. “now” is almost always the favorite age. and those legs! xoxo
looks like our little ones are around the same age. it IS such a fun, beautiful age!
I love the picture of her with the cat! 🙂
