Hello from the land of Baby Fog. This first picture has pretty much been my constant view for the last 8 days. This spot on the sofa. These pillows and blankets draped across my lap. These girls smothering their new sister to the point of me shooing them off for a bit of peace and quiet. Big, face-smooshing kisses.
Birdy is definitely making her place in our family known right from the start. Each day gets a teeny-tiny bit easier or at least more comfortable.
I'm watching way too much daytime television, I know way too much celebrity gossip, and I can name the order, hosts and times of all late-night television talk and news shows. We're becoming close friends.
Thank goodness for family and church friends who are keeping us fed and well-stocked. Although Emma is making requests for meals she misses and wonders when "I'll come alive in the kitchen again…"
All in all, we're hanging in there. Occasionally coming up for air and a brief dip of our toes into the "real world".
And thank YOU for all your welcoming wishes for Birdy.
She’s precious Molly! I’m glad you’re getting some rest and catching up on the gossip. 😉
I don’t think I ever got the chance to tell you… congratulations! she’s absolutely beautiful! and oh, that name. that name.
p.s. I so remember the baby fog. my thoughts are with you. 🙂
Oh sweetness. Such an important, wonderful time that baby fog. xx
what a little sweetie! no wonder they give her so many kisses.
good to see you coming up for air. glad all is well with your family.
even though it’s fog, it lasts only a little bit. precious time. rest when you can. she is a little sweetie!
so sweet, enjoy the new baby fog
i just wish we could watch but not remember all those bits of celebrity gossip and the order of shows from 7am-5pm and beyond. i feel for you molly! may you be free of the fog sooner rather than later.
Oh my goodness!! That is the sweetest face. I’d be smoosh kissing it too!!
She LOOKS like a Birdy! Molly, once again you are so very blessed, such sweetness. I wish I could relive baby fog by osmosis, Happy Easter to all.
your birdy is just darling. but how could your child be anything but? xoxo
Seeing your lovely little girl is making the wait for my little Beastling all that much harder. Twenty-five more days to go! I hope things go as smoothly for us as they seem to be for you.
What a beautiful little one, glad the days are getting easier. Enjoy the time, they grow up so fast.
I watched all FOUR seasons of Felicity this last time. Whew. Kept me somewhat sane! Glad you’re hanging in there and glad you have folks feeding you! All the best to you all.
She is such a little dolly. I wish I could come over and hold her! There is nothing like the feeling of a newborn in your arms! It goes by so fast… still so happy for you all.
smooches to you and your sweet girls!
It’s like that, isn’t it? You can’t be sure if the days are getting easier, or if you are all getting used to how to get along with each other within your day. And then of course, just when you nail it, the kids change the rules! My best wishes to you. You are doing a great and important job there on that couch, keep it up!
Congratulations — she’s precious!
she’s really beautiful! congratulations!
Oh Birdy, you are the sweetest thing!Big hugs to you mama, and to all your sweet gals!
What a cutie pie! And we had the same thing with church family meals – I loved it, but after 2 weeks of meals, my oldest was wondering when Mommy was going to cook again, “because my Mommy’s the best cook in the world!” The compliment was appreciated, but I didn’t quite share the enthusiasm…Enjoy that spot on the couch!
Ah, little birdie is such a cutie!I have a giveaway over on my blog too 🙂
congratulations again!! she looks like a tiny, sweet, and very cutely bald version of some pictures I have seen of you. Enjoy your snuggling-TV-sofa time–get as much rest as you can; you deserve it!
I’ll never forget that my favorite show during baby fog time was Blind Date. It was so awful, but it was on late after hubby went to bed and it was good company.
She has a face that just begs for smooching. I don’t blame the girls!
Enjoy, enjoy… oh molly, she is beautiful.
She is precious! My 2nd is 8 months old and it has flown by at lightning speed.
Thank you for sharing….I stumbled upon your blog recently and I’m so glad I did. I am recently emerging out of the “new baby fog”. Our fourth little girl was born in November. I completely get the “20 min feels like a luxury” thing. Enjoy every min! Blessings on you and your family. I love her nickname!
Oh, she’s lovely! I just returned from vacation to this wonderful news. I’m so happy for you and cannot wait to see this little Birdy grow and thrive like your other girls. Best, Patricia
Oh my! What a little beauty you are Birdy! Congratulations! What a wonderful blessing!
Can’t wait to see her in real life! Saw your Dad on Sunday and he was beaming with pride!
