show & tell : blush

 Show tell new

*note: this post isn't just for the "prego" people among us, read all the way to the end!*

While pregnancy has a number of woes and ailments that I'll refrain from listing here, my biggest daily, even hourly, even minute-ly (is that a word?) annoyance is the falling down jeans. And while I welcome the addition of some stretch to my denim, I loathe the way it causes my jeans to sag and slouch.

If you cared to follow me around the house, this is what you'd see:

step. step. step. hike up the jeans. step. step. step. hike up the jeans.

It makes me crazy. On top of that, I have a few shirts or sweaters that I love and don't want to part with despite my long torso and growing belly. But the last thing I want to see on my pregnant self in the middle of winter is too much skin.

So when I stumbled upon Blush Topless Undershirts, I was immediately intrigued. Pregnant or not, here's the solution to many wardrobe problems.

Blush

The layered look without the extra bulk.

Get more wear out of shirts that shrank in the wash.

Long torso? Tees never long enough? Get just the right amount of length you want.

Pregnant? Tempted to unbutton that top button on your favorite pair of jeans? Hide it and hold 'em up.

Nursing? Lift your shirt without exposing all kinds of skin. 🙂

 Black-lg

The nice people at Blush sent me a maternity undershirt to try and I have to say it was really comfortable and exactly what I'm needing at this stage in my pregnancy. But I can also see how I'd really love having one, even if not sporting an expanding belly.

And not only did I get to try one, Blush is also giving away one to a lucky reader**. Leave a comment to be entered. I'll announce the winner on Thursday.

Didn't win the giveaway? Can't wait for the results?

Use the coupon code : welovebloggers to get 20% off your order of two or more undershirts.

Good luck!

  1. very cool product! and not just for the pregnant crowd, but also the has been pregnant 🙂 your blog looks lovely! love the remodel 🙂

  2. Oh, what I would have given for one of these when I was pregnant! Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to snag one for the next time around. Thank you for hosting this. I love the new look here. Very fresh!

  3. ::::::::::::::::::::thanks for the remodel love, friends!! But just popping in to say that these also come in “regular” sizes, not just for maternity.

    Good luck!:::::::::::::::::::

  4. Oh, this would be lovely for nursing my little one!

By the way, I just love your blog! It’s a definite must read on my bookmark list. 🙂

  5. i must say, it is wonderful to hear another pregnant woman who is driven crazy by the minute by her falling down jeans! ugh!! it drove me crazy both times i was expecting and i often wonder if i could be able to deal with it a third time (yes, i know that’s crazy but true :).

i have also been plagued for years of being a bit too tall for most shirts on the market.

these tummy cover shirts are brilliant! thank you for sharing!

  6. Wow! My pregnant belly would love this! And I know exactly how you feel about hiking up your pants. Somehow, I find myself doing the same thing – and mine even have drawstrings! Of course, it could have something to do with the one-year-old forever pulling on my pant legs.. (:

  7. I think I must have these. I guess I keep growing taller or shirts keep getting shorter, regardless I’m tired of not having anything long enough. Thanks for the info. Oh, and your new space here is very nice.

  8. Not preggers but would love something like this! I just shrunk one of my favorite sweaters in the wash. Am I reading the site right – it is like a tube top but worn where you want?

  9. How neat! I was just wandering through Costco last night looking for some tanks that were long enough to cover my tummy. This is the perfect solution! (And I hear you on the pant dilemma, I thought maybe it was because I don’t have enough in the back area, so to speak, yet. I’m only 5 months along, so there’s time…)

  10. I’m pregnant too, and and am doing the Step, Step, Hike Shuffle as well! What a fabulous idea, and I relish the idea of using the undershirt for after the baby comes and I don’t want to show the world my belly!

  11. Ironic… I was just thinking last night that I have to try and find these again as they would come in handy. Fingers crossed… thanks!

  12. I’d love one! Not pregnant (praying though) but I’ve lost a bit of weight. It isn’t enough to comfortably fit in the next size down jeans, but enough that the ones I have fall down a bit. Sounds like this product would solve that for me.

  13. I am nursing twins at the moment and the “extra skin” showing is almost a near impossibility. 🙂 Looks like a fantastic top, though; I’d love to try one!

  14. I agree, the has-been pregnant crowd, and the just-getting-over-the-holidays crowd – ahem… I like this idea and wonder if I can do something about the shirts of mine that are too short…..

  15. Just 5 minutes ago I had the falling down jeans discussion with my husband. I hate it! This is my 4th pregnancy, and I always wear regular clothes until it’s just ridiculous to do so. He told me I should design a maternity line. ha

  16. The second time I was pregnant, I cut off the arms of all my second-favorite shirts and used them in exactly this capacity- I’m so glad to see someone’s done a (proper) version! I’m super long-torsoed, so I’d love to win one of these even tho I’m NOT pregnant!

And loving the remodel here, Molly. xo

  17. I laughed so hard at the beginning of this post! I am pregnant and wearing maternity jeans that have been stretched just a little bit too far from my last pregnancy and from loaning them out to a friend pregnant with twins. Every time I wear them there are some serious sagging issues! Count me in for the drawing!

  18. Love your new headlining photo. Wintry and breath-taking.Would kill for one of these shirt right now as I am large with twins and have a belly from my previous pregnancy that I’m fond of covering.

  19. I had something similar for my pregnancy, I never thought to wear it for non-preggers clothing issues, what a great idea!Hope all is well with you and the bun.Smooch!kk

  20. How cool! I am not pregnant currently, but I feel your pain with the falling down jeans, it seems even “normal” jeans are so low-rise now that I am constantly hiking mine up when standing up. Thanks for the intro to this product!

  21. I’ve been experimenting with long tanktops under shirts but yes the ‘bulk’ is there, and I don’t need any help. this looks like an interesting solution! I’m game!

  22. Let me add my amen to the elastic jeans problem and throw my hat in for the giveaway. I’m right at that in between stage where I could wear my pants unbuttoned and pray my shirt stays down long enough or wear maternity pants that are still a tad too big in the belly. (although might I add that in the last month of my last pregnancy I discovered Secret Pants from motherhood maternity that have this sort of light nylon tube that comes up to your bra line instead of the elastic sagging below my belly. I have the lack of junk in the trunk problem so even with regular maternity pants I end of step step shuffling my way through my entire pregnancy. Until I discovered the secret pants) I think the benefits of having it for nursing would be the best!

  23. These look awesome! I wear an undershirt every day and spend a lot of time pulling it down because it doesn’t feel long enough. Thanks for the hook up.

  24. I only just discovered your blog in December, and now it’s one of my favorite reads! And this shirt sounds perfect for my very long torso–shirts are never long enough, especially with the fad for low-rise jeans. K x

  25. Like many a good idea, the Japanese have been doing it forever. They call them Haramaki. I made a load by chopping the tops off some t-shirts and I love them. They stop that hideous gap between jeans and shirt from emerging unexpectedly! And that’s when I’m NOT pregnant!

  26. I’m still nursing my one year old son and I have found tank tops to be the most comfortable attire. Please count me in. Thank you

  27. Very neat idea that would OF COURSE come about after I’m all done with pregnancies – but it looks like a great remedy for those of us with long torsos too!

  28. I suffer from the “not long enough” tee shirt syndrome. I must have a longer than normal torso, b/c I find myself ALWAYS having to layer a tank under a normal shirt in order to avoid giving a peep show of my mid-section. I can’t wait to check out the website. THanks for the post and the giveaway!!

  29. Okay…I am laughing as I do the same little dance/walk around the house…all that hiking up of my pants gets SO annoying! I’d love one of these brilliant undershirts…perfect!

  30. I wore something like this when I was pregnant AND while nursing my baby. (now 12 months old). It was AWESOME!!!!!! It smoothed out my bunched up unbuttoned jeans, looked like a layered t-shirt underneath, AND smoothed out my tummy under clothes for a few months after birth. (Nice for nursing like you mentioned.)

I had one in black and one in white, like a t-shirt, and those two went with everything. I wish I had other colors though. 🙂 Great Giveaway!

PS. I quit wearing them because they were so stretched out after too long. But a smaller size would be nice.

  31. Hmmmm…they look neat – but I’m curious – what’s to keep the top part from slipping down? Does yours stay in place when you wear it?

  32. Oh what a great giveaway….wish I had one when prego last time but could still use it now…and maybe the next time I am blessed with another child….thanks

  33. Sarah, it would be hard for me to judge if you weren't pregnant–but for me, it didn't slip down. I also have a pregnant tummy to hold it up. It has a wider band at the top, which I think helps, too.

  34. Hey those look great! I am not pregnant, but I do have a super long torso. This would solve a number of problems!

  35. Oh, PLEASE pick me! I’m not preggers, nor will be for quite some time, but I work at a day care and am constantly moving up and down, and I HATE an exposed backside and those darn khakis (work uniform) never stay up! I’m definitely going to check this place out, even if I don’t win. Thank you!! =)

  36. I definitely fall into the body-shape category where most tops are never long enough. Sounds like a very interesting product to try!

  37. Such a good idea. I love the layered look without the bulk. I’m not nursing anymore, but would have LOVED to be able to nurse without exposing my whole post-pregnancy belly. My concern was never showing too much up top – the baby covered most of that – it was always showing too much in the mid-section.

  38. Wow..I could use this! I’m there with you in the too many shirts that aren’t quite as long as I’d like them to be category. What a great product!

  39. I would love to try this – I fit into the long torso category. I’m good about not shrinking things, but really bad about coveting tops even though I know they look too short and grabbing them anyway (usually at the thrift…but still…)I’ll cross my (also long) fingers 🙂
