a good 20 minutes

I stepped outside with my camera yesterday, while I waited for the grill to get hot. Within just a short window of time, maybe twenty minutes, I was able to capture little snapshots of our life. I love looking at them today, and realizing all the activity that can happen in just a short span of time. Sometimes, it's nice to capture it and hold it together all in one place….for me they tell a story. And they remind me of little benchmarks in time– the ducklings daily excursion outside, the last chicken–who keeps close to the house, a new technique for swinging, an upgrade from nakedness to underwear, the agony that is sharing the swing with your little sister, a patient favorite kitten, a rare, still moment between two four-legged friends…..

What stories could you tell, if you captured a good twenty minutes today?

  1. hey, how is ruby doing? she looks good!

i’m not sure what my 20 minutes would be–living in the ‘burbs, the scenery is a little different… 🙂

  2. One of the things my husband said when I started a blog, was that he loved seeing the pictures of our life in that way. Maybe the stillness of a photograph captures those moments so you can really see them (unlike the chaos that it usually feels).Love the pictures, and your blog!

  3. Jen,Ruby is doing really well. Today is the first day she is officially off her “resting period”. It looks like she will be fine!

And P.S. there’s beauty everywhere. even in the ‘burbs! 🙂 xo.

  4. twenty minutes of mindfulness, memories, and captured moments. sounds like a very good project. thank you for sharing your twenty minutes with us molly.

  5. What a great idea! Of course, it won’t be today, since I won’t be home for 20 minutes of daylight today . . . Maybe tomorrow . . .

  6. I find that some days I’m too busy to slow down enough to take a look and take a picture…until just before dinner, when every thing is set, and the kids are killing time, waiting, and then, I stalk around the yard, or the house, camera in hand, the light is incredible, and I get it all-everything I’d want to see or remember-right then in those moments.A lot of these photos look like those moments…right down to the undies :-)!

  7. I love this idea Molly. You always issue me a good challenge. I think I’ll try it, perhaps this weekend? And again, you’re killing me with the kitten, puppy, and sweet little girl photos.Happy 4th weekend!

  8. Looking at these pictures makes me feel as if I’m having a happy childhood. You should charge a fee for the relaxation benefits of your blog. My pulse just slowed down. Thanks.
