A few months ago I ordered some big prints from shutterfly, I debated and finally got matte and LOVE them, they look very perfessional to me.
I always get matte finish on my photos, since the online services first got it (winkflash I think is where I used to get it done). When I have to get glossy (because I’ve taken a disposable camera to target or something) I always think they’re noticeably cheaper looking.
I always prefer matte!

I prefer matte I think they frame much better.We had a few gloss photos ruined as when we tried to re-frame them they had stuck to the glass.This is way before we had a digital camera and we have no negatives either 🙁

Well I think you’ve got a fairly good consensus here but I always go matte too….seeing the theme??!! They don’t show fingerprints as much.

It really depends on the image. If you really want some serious help, email me links and I’ll tell you what I would do. I’ve had some training and photography was my college major, so it won’t be completely a personal opinion.
Personally, I like Matte, but some pictures just beg to be glossy.
