a break in the rain

The forecast is calling for rain for the next few days, so we took the opportunity to get out this morning. Just a simple walk around the farm looking for fall color:

I have a to-do list this week that’s taking up three pages of my notebook.
My list is also overflowing with prenatal appointments (all made as of an hour ago), thanksgiving pie-baking, place card making, craft projects and homeschool lesson ideas.
I forgot how much I love making lists. I’ve been neglecting them lately–just letting the ‘to do’s’ float around in my head. Big mistake. Gosh, it feels good to cross something off a list.  And I love it when my list is filled with tasks I don’t dread.

and on another topic: how do you mac users upload your photos to flickr? do you use the exporter in iPhoto, or do you use flickr’s exporting tool? I’ve been using the one in iPhoto, and it takes forever and sometimes won’t finish the job. It shouldn’t take this long. Is there a better way that you can share with me?? help!

hope you’re all doing well and enjoying preparations for next week’s holiday. I’m a little behind in my blog reading, but I’m slowly making progress on catching up with all of you. You all bring inspiration to me every day.
Happy Tuesday!

  1. Lovely shots on that lovely property. It’s so beautiful, as are your girls!I’m a list writer too. Scratching things off is a great feeling. For uploading to Flickr I use flickr’s tool. It’s not too slow although you can only upload 6? at a time.Good luck with your presentation too!

  2. busy girl! love those shots ~

i am the queen of lists. seriously. now getting everything on the lists done….hmmmm.

I export pics from iphoto to my desktop (or photoshop if they need help) then upload using flickr’s tool. like Angela said, only 6 at a time but it’s pretty fast and that’s plenty for me.

  3. It does feel good to check things off a list and it sounds like you are doing a great job. If they don’t pick to have a farm market blog, they are crazy and your a perfect person for it. Let us know how it goes.Wishing you Good Luck!

  4. I hear you on the pre-natal app. thing. Between all the sonograms I have to have and being placed on the “high risk” watch I’ll be there every other week.

  5. Love those photos!I use the flickr uploader as well. It automatically resizes all my photos and is very speedy indeed. I used to do it through iPhoto, but like the flickr solution much better….

  6. what fun exploring the farm, we wish we were there! I also use the flickr tool, but I would love a faster option with the ability to upload more than 6 at a time. I do open another window and can get another 6 going but it won’t let me open any more windows after that. I’d love to hear about other options!

  7. you know, i knew the farm was pretty but i didnt realize it was a fairy tale! love the shot of all the animals scampering about. i was thinking of you last night on my drive home for some reason. wondering if with all the busy things if you have had time to relax in your studio with some clay. i am guessing it feels really good to sink your hands into it. hope all is well sweet molly.

  8. I downloaded the Flickr uploader for macs – you can upload as many as you want at a time (not only six) and it’s pretty darn fast. It also resizes the photo’s so you can do it straight from Iphoto’s.

  9. I use a Mac and Flickr, and I think I just go to their upload link which then prompts me to a “browse” function and I upload from there. If I come up with any better insight, I’ll let you know. It’s pretty easy though. Sounds like I need to look into this “uploader.” What gorgeous photos. Those are particularly wonderful as a set. Thanks for sharing them!

  10. I must confess: I’ve never considered farm living until I began visiting this blog. What a paradise it must be for your girls! You’ve definitely showed me what I’m missing. Thanks.

  11. The shots of your farm literally took my breath away…. How absolutely serene, enjoy your blog immensely, thanks for all the inspiration!
