today, i am thankful for…

do you see it?

*the excitement of a morning with no power. and it's restoration before it got annoying.

*going to the store. getting mostly all that i need. with a bit less stress than six months ago.

*chubby baby legs in hand knit leg warmers.

*ray lamontagne and patty griffin on pandora.

*a gas range that works even when the power doesn't.

*finding the coffee press in the bottom cupboard.

*that they knew having "drumsticks" on sunday night, was just like meemu.

*sleeping under quilts. alone. with babies. with little girls. with my husband.

…………………………………………………………

please share…one thing that you are thankful for on this day.

  1. i am thankful for my two beautiful, healthy and strong daughters. and my husband. and my dog. and the smell of home-baked cookies all through my house.

  2. I am thankful for my mom who spent the weekend with the baby and I while my husband and two other kids were out of town. She ignored my messy house and helped me the entire time she was here.

  3. that I get even one more day with this family of mine. they are so entertaining and funny.

    the warm September sun.

homemade pancakes & coffee for breakfast.

  4. I’m thankful for Irish drinking songs in the morning before Dad goes to work, a hound that loves to snuggle, smiles and giggles from my baby girl, and slightly more sleep at night.

  5. A daughter that went off to school happily this morning and never once asked to stay home.

An easy 5 mile run in the beautiful cool morning air.

A husband who so willingly works to provide for our family.

Thought provoking blog posts that keep me focused on what’s really important.

  6. I am thankful for my two amazing little boys, a husband who loves me no matter what, and a fun day of soccer for my boys this weekend. 🙂

  7. I am thankful for the friend who came over and showed me that if I moved my microwave to a shelf I have, it would open up much needed counter space. Right in front of the window. Sometimes it takes some else to see something with different eyes.

  8. At this very moment in time… besides always being thankful for my husband, daughters and home… I am forever thankful for having a washer and dryer. If I had to wash our clothes by hand I am sure I would have some sort of nervous breakdown!

  9. …for fall mornings and that first cup of coffee before the kids are awake…fresh picked apples…the library…that my children really miss me when I work and I get lots of extra love on Monday morning

  10. The sleepy hug and “Hi, Mommy. Thank you.” that I got when I went in last night to check on my daughter and cover her up on my way to bed.

  11. I’m thankful for the million little moments that add up to our existence, for the chance meeting of a man who became my soul mate, for four happy, healthy babies and adventures yet to come…

  12. Thankful that our extended family survived the sudden destruction of their neighborhood ~ they escaped without injury, others weren’t so lucky. (See San Bruno fire in California 9/9/10).

  13. my husband–his humor, his laughter, his open-mindedness, his love for his fellow man, but especially his fierce commitment to “us” that we started 9 years ago. at a time in our lives when we’re watching other people deal with the messes caused by broken relationships, i’m so grateful for ours and pray daily for its strength.

  14. . . . that even when I have an extremely trying day with an allergy-miserable 5-year-old, he still wants to be pressed up against me with his arm thrown around my neck to go to sleep tonight.

    Loved your list.

  17. Crisp morning air that says fall is just around the corner, even if it gets hot during the day.Nine days until a big life change that I’ve been waiting for for 10 months. One that has me excited rather than nervous.

  18. the fall sun through my small laundry room window, that makes the task of all the folding so much more pleasant

the three little bodies and one big body who don all of those clothes

that we have the means to make the clothes so dirty with dirt and grass in our backyard and the delicious treats from our kitchen

  19. No tears from either of us this morning when I dropped my little one at school. Back to school stress makes me feel like chewed string.. but today he ran in full of joy. Very thankful.Thak you
